Brown Bag Seminar: Unveiling Classism

Classism remains a form of discrimination that has been little studied and is often rarely questioned. Understanding how it is perceived, experienced, and challenged is an important step toward transforming this social reality.

To analyze how people conceptualize classism and how awareness of this phenomenon can be raised, a group of researchers conducted a field laboratory experiment in Colombia. Drawing on the potential of education, storytelling, and the arts to challenge discriminatory biases, the team designed two interventions and evaluated their effects on perceptions of classism.

Allison Benson, executive director of the Center for Public Action Research, will present the final results of this TREES-supported research, titled Unveiling Classism: The Potential of Experiential Reflection in Transforming Perceptions.
